She began sewing at age 13 and once she figured out that she could make her own designs, she started stitching her own patterns and designs. Athena continued to hone her craft during high school. She always had an entrepreneurial flare. Never wanting to live someone else's dream. At 17, she owned her own landscaping business and after living in Europe for 4 years, at age 22 she came back and built up a tanning and nail salon with a boutique that sold bathing suits, lotions and summer apparel that she had for 10 years. After studying fashion and retail she decided to launch her clothing company in 1998. Growing up, she would summer in Greece and spend time on the family olive grove. She always had a dream as a child to produce her own olive oil. She had an opportunity to take over the olive grove and took it to the next level. Athena Diamond Gourmet was born and the rest is history.
Athena Diamond approaches her life as passionately as she does work. Her humor, intelligence and fine tuned aesthetic instincts shine through all of her designs.
